Soulmates

Last night in the bathtub, Camden is watching me take off my make-up and he says, "Mommy, when you put make-up on, it makes you look pretty and all the boys will want to be your boyfriend."

I laughed and told him that I only had one boyfriend now, and that was his Daddy; and that Mommy didn't have boyfriends now because I had married his Daddy. He then says, "Well, how did you get married?"

I start to explain how part of growing up is finding your soulmate. I told him that when God made him, he also made his soulmate, so that one day when he grows up, he'll look for his soulmate and find her and they'll fall in love and get married. Then he says, "What's a soulmate?"

So, I explain how you find the one person in the whole world who you love more than anything and you want to spend forever with. Then, I tell him "Your Daddy found me first, Cam."

He says, "Well, what if you found Daddy, but Daddy found someone else?" :o)

I laughed and told him that I would just have to hope that the other person wouldn't want Daddy, so he'd come and pick me. That seemed to satisfy him.

So, I've got the intellectual questions coming from Cam, while Zach is sitting beside him drinking soapy bathwater and giggling everytime Cam pokes him. Ah, the joys of motherhood!
