Where Did You Hit Your Head?

So, a few nights ago, we were eating dinner at the Laymans and Zachary dropped his sippy cup. I get up to go pick it up, handed it to him, turned around and in a split second (we all know how fast this can happen), he fell out of his chair.

Poor thing, he's crying/screaming, so I pick him up and I'm loving on him and hugging him and I say "Where did you hit your head, Zachy?", because he was holding both his forehead and the side of his head.

Zach looks at me, stops crying, with this serious look on his face and says "The Floor"; the look on his face was hysterical, you could just imagine in his head he's going "You idiot, you just picked me up off the floor, and you're gonna ask me where I hit my head."

I hug him again, and Cam looks at me like "Duh, Mom."

Bookfair Blizzard

Camden's bookfair at Brownsville was last week. Family night was Thursday night, so we met Granny and Grandaddy there too. Zachary played outside with Grandaddy while TD, Camden, Granny and I looked at books inside. At the entrance to the fair, there was a jar full of small chocolate snowcaps for the students to guess how many were inside the jar.

Cam's first guess was 150, so TD said, "Take one more good look and see if you're sure that's your guess." Next guess was 1,000. TD helped him fill out his guess slip and we went on in to the fair.

Sunday afternoon, our next-door neighbor, who helps out with the bookfair every year walked over with the candy jar because Camden won! The total number of candies was 864, so Camden was the closest number. The next closest number was 653, so Cam was obviously closer.

Back at the kindergarten open house, his teacher had a small jar full of chocolate kisses for them to guess the number of. Yep, Cam was that too!

Time for him to start picking lotto numbers!

I Know What Rhymes With......

A few nights ago Camden and Zachary are in the bathtub playing around.
Out of the blue Camden says:

"Momma! I know some new rhyming words...... Heart and Fart! Gas and Ass!"

Before I could speak...my mouth was hanging open, I'm sure...he comes up with the best (or worst)

"Oh and Venus and Penis!"

Needless to say, we had to remind him that penis is a private potty word and not to be repeated in kindergarten. Not to mention ass and gas! Not sure where that came from, but we had a LONG talk about that word.

Ah...they joys of motherhood.

Zachary's Pumpkin Patch Trip

Zachary's preschool class went to the pumpkin patch this past Wednesday. He had a ball! Loved playing will all his friends and most of all the hayride!

The patch was on a small farm north of Charlottesville, so they did have a few animals for the kids to see...pigs, turkeys, chickens, goats and a donkey. Which Zachary did not like the donkey, he kept saying "Hurt me? Hurt me?" Bless his heart.

He loved the hayride. Got on and said "Robbie tractor?" TD's Uncle Robbie has a tractor just like the one pulling the hay wagon, so he loved that! Kept saying "Whee! Whee! Whee! Go, go, go!" Then got really tired and put his head on his daddy's shoulder and fell asleep!

All in all, we had a great day!

How Cute Am I?

Boy...does he know how to use this smile on his Granny and Grandaddy.
Or as Zach says "My NeeNee", which we think is Granny!

Camden and Zachary both stayed with NeeNee and Grandaddy this weekend. I think they are still recovering!

Hometown Heroes Lunch

Camden's school held their annual Hometown Heroes Luncheon a few weeks ago and invited all local law enforcement, fire and rescue to come have lunch with the students.

Of course, TD went and was able to go back to Camden's class and talk to them about safety and the usual.

Camden was VERY proud to have his Daddy eating lunch with him, and they both bought school lunch...Daddy had pepperoni pizza and Camden had cheese pizza.

During the talk, TD said Camden was absolutely hilarious.

TD would ask a question like "Who here knows what a policeman does?" Camden would immediately raise his hand, "Oh, I know Daddy, I know!" TD would say "I know you know Camden, but let's see if anyone else does."

So, one child answers "Um, you shoot people when they are bad and kill people." TD's response..."Well, yeah, but anything else?" Camden yells out "You write speeding tickets and you wrote 10 in one day, and 3 yesterday, and you pick up bad guys from Florida, North Carolina, New York and bring them back here to jail."

Basically, Camden could have just given the talk that day, he was so excited for his Daddy to be there.

So, at the end of the talk, TD asked the kids if anyone had any questions about anything he had talked about and surprisingly no one did. Which was a relief for TD, because anytime he is around kids, they ALWAYS want to talk about the gun. So, when no one asked anything, Camden blurts out "Oh yeah, he's got a GUN!"
Leave it to the cop's kid to point it out!
Afterwards, TD took the class outside to his car and let them all get in and sit in the back-seat which they all LOVED.
